Well the display is now up and running. 25,500 ish lights and lots of happy visitors. You can see the pics in our Gallery by clicking the link below. You can also upload a picture of your house in the right area too... please do do that as i love seeing other displays, especially UK ones. May 29th, 2006 -:

I finally got around to actually doing some work towards the display this year. Today I installed 6 banks of outdoor sockets to the exterior wall of the shed. This will save having to have trailing leads out of the window.

June 26th, 2006 -:

I have started today to think about what i will be doing with the display and what channels will be needed. My initial thoughts are that i will need 48 channels for the basic display. I will not have a mega tree this year. The channel line up is as shown in the excel sheet here. I will order the LOR units i need (3 of the 16 Ch units and 1 MP3 Director) in the next few months.

October 3rd, 2006 -:

I finally finished the wiring today. This involved running 6 new runs of cable from the transformers to the outdoor sockets on the outside of the shed.

October 8th, 2006 -:

I created and put in place a double outlet of 110v for the LOR unit that will be furthest away from the main power today. This is fed by a standard UK 110v lead and outputs to a double gang (homemade) outlet. It is extremely low to the ground which should provide good protection from the rain. Also I have resited the UK 240v outlet cabinet. I thought about sizing up my extension cords but could not face it after all the other work i had done!!

November 4th, 2006 :-

I have started putting out the lights!!!! The running lights up count will feature on the home page. I am taking pictures as I go but most likely will not post them on the site until end of November.
